The Hawk
$12.00
In evolutionary game theory, there is a canonical game called the Hawk-Dove game in which hawks use an aggressive strategy in their interactions with hawks and doves. The result is that hawks will regularly destroy themselves at the population level. The dove, on other hand, cooperates with itself and flees in the presence of a hawk. Thus, The Hawk represents aggression, bull-headedness, and a short-sighted perspective. It is a cautionary archetype that tells us that retreat and pacifism can have long term benefits, and that approaching interactions aggressively will ultimately become your undoing.
